The Rules of the Forum

Prior to the other rules and conditions of use of The Vinyl Juice Forum, you will not post, provide a link to, or transmit:

(a) any material which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, malicious, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, blasphemous, profane or otherwise objectionable in any way.

(b) any material containing a virus or other hostile computer program.

(c) any material which constitutes, or encourages the commission of, a criminal offence or which infringes any patent, trade mark, design right, copyright or any other intellectual property right or similar rights of any person which may subsist under the laws of any jurisdiction.

(d) The Administrator and Moderators reserve the right to remove any post, link etc. that is deemed inappropriate from this Forum without notice. We do not allow links to Warez, Adult or illegal MP3 content.

(e) Possible Legal action; Members are reminded that they are the copyright holder of any/all content of posts made on these forums. Any member who deems this content to be libel shall in the first instance contact the Administrator and draw his/her attention to the offending post.

(f) Responsibilities and actions; The administrator shall contact by whichever means deemed appropriate the author of the offending post and inform him/her that an objection has been raised and the reason for deletion. The member shall also be reminded at this time that should a further incident occur, then the member will be banned from the forums. The forum owners shall be allowed a reasonable period of time to respond to the objection. This will end the involvement of the forum owners. Should a member subsequently decide to raise an action against another member, the owner shall, as directed by the relevant law authority, provide legal testimony as required.

(g) By posting on these forums you agree to the above conditions.
Before you post on this forum. You WILL read the rules. If you decide not to agree to them, or disagree with them. Well frankly you cannot come and play here.

In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems please post a thread in this section for our team to respond publicly. If you would prefer you can always send a 'PM' (Private Message to any of the 'Regulators' on the forum.

By becoming a member of Vinyl Juice you agree to adhere to these guidelines and Rules. These guidelines are subject to change and a current version is always available in the forums. Members that violate these rules may be suspended or banned-and the forum owners decision is final.

Although the Administrators and Regulators of Vinyl Juice will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, we cannot be responsible for message content. All messages express the views of the author.The owners,admin and regulators of the forum except no responsibilty for the views expressed within this forum by the authors/members. The owners or the representatives of The Vinyl Juice Forum may remove, edit, move, or close topics they feel do not follow the rules without notice. Where possible they will PM the original poster with a reason, if it is not obvious as to why. For example if you post a thread you expect is rude/abusive/racist/sexist etc then expect it to be removed. Don't expect an explanation or a message. We have not got time to do this for every removed thread!

The Vinyl Juice Forum is not responsible for anything you do as a result of information or advice obtained at this site.

Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
(Please use good judgement when choosing user names, avatars, or images to post, and do not attempt to bypass the word filter. It is there for a reason.)

Use your judgment to post in the correct forum section. Any post not in the correct section may be moved without prior notice to the correct forum, and again without explanation. (This may happen frequently)

Please do not post offensive images or content. Any such images or content will be removed and a warning may be sent by PM to the person or persons involved. Any thread with questionable content, should be labelled as such in the topic title. E.g. NWS (not work safe). If the post is not marked then a moderator may change or edit your post to suit. Posting threads without marking it with warnings shall be regarded once as a mistake in most circumstances and the second time around we will go mad and moan at you

Any post or thread may be removed at a moderator’s discretion without informing the post / thread author of the reason.

Personal attacks, rudeness, flaming, baiting, insults to others, or arguments will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Please refrain from making excessive negative comments. As the saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it".

Any member who threatens anyone on the forum, via PM, instant messengers, or Email, will be banned immediately without notice. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Our decision is final in these matters. We will also fully support Police or other agencies in the dislosure of material deemed required for any form of investigation, and this may include details on your registration information and also logs of threads and or PM's. We are pro-anti keyboard warriors on here.

Please do not question or discuss moderation or administrative decisions on the forum. If you have a query, then please PM a moderator. However once in a while we may seem fit to explain ourselves, remember you are in our house. What we say will go. Like most well run pubs if you are naughty you will get thrown out. Whinging like a child will result in you looking like one of those idiots outside a nightclub who has been removed and is trying to get back in to his friends. Who of course were so bothered by his ejection they remained inside drinking and dancing with the girls.

If you feel you were treated unfairly by a moderator and wish to complain about them, then sorry. A group decision was already made and the end result has been decided.

If you break the rules in any way then you may be dealt with accordingly. This can range from a suspension for a number of days to an instant ban. Normally you will receive at least one warning before any action is taken. If you repeatedly break the same rule your account will be at risk of an extended (months) suspension or even a permanent ban. An instant ban can be given by any member of staff.

Banning decisions are made by a vote/poll by moderators in a private section. If you are under investigation for bad behaviour against the forum or its members as a member-you will be notified by PM and given a deadline for the decision to be made. The board of regulators will then inform you of their result.

No advertising or selling of any kind allowed in the forums, this is not eBay. If you are interested in advertising, contact the site owners. Anything considered to be advertising or "spam" will be removed without notice.

DO NOT post URLS (links) to other sites 'advertising' your site. You will have your posts deleted and face a possible ban.
While we do not mind users mentioning other forums, blatant advertising or repeated bumping of posts with a web address within will not be tolerated.

Posting of copyright material is strictly forbidden and will be removed without notice. (Unless of course permission has been granted by the author or credit to the author has been given as per the terms of a licence/contract for usage.)

Blatant spamming of threads is not allowed and any such posts will be removed without notice.
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.

Multiple or repeated posting (post whoring) in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members. Anybody wishing to discuss advertising should contact a moderator who will pass it through to the rest of the team.

While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

Please use a program such as Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) to post pictures in the forum. This software enables you to upload pictures from your digital camera for example and hosts the picture for you to post on the forum.

The Owners, Adminstration and Regulators except no responsibility for any information that is posted by members that could result in legal action against that member.
"Text Speak", spelling, and grammar

Furthermore, within reason we require that you post in a literate manner using correct and understandable grammar. We are not the spelling and grammar police however, we are human and we make mistakes when typing from time to time and that is accepted.

We will not tolerate those who think it is their right to act as the spelling or grammar police on this forum. Anyone acting in this manner will have their posts deleted. Repeated occurrences will be responded to with infractions which will lead to bans. This is a forum about detailing not about the English language or correction thereof.
Drunken ramblings will be deleted as will posts written using excessive "text speak, and again, repeated occurrences of this will be responded to with infractions which will lead to bans.

Please note that acronyms, such as, but not limited to; lol, wtf, lmao, and pmsl, are NOT considered text speak, so using them isn't frowned upon.
If someone does use text speak in a post and it's ineligible then do NOT respond to the in a derogatory manner about it, use the "Report Post" icon, which looks like this: to report the post to us, at which point we will review the post and take appropriate action.

Berating users for such a post falls under the same rules as acting like the spelling or grammar police.
